Developed with every Level of presiding officer in mind. The presiding with Poise workshop will outline what every presiding officer should know, understand, and practice. This workshop will be beneficial whether presiding over a small meeting or a large convention.
Born in Baltimore and reared in Detroit, Tamara D. Harris has always had the innovation and motivation to lead and learn. Her determination to be successful, help others, and move organizations forward began with her High School leadership roles continued throughout her collegiate career as she sought and held leadership capacities in numerous on-campus organizations such as Student Government, Pep and Pom Squad, and the Mathematics Club.
Tamara has a zest and zeal for life and truly believes in helping the community. She has served with numerous community service organizations and holds near to her heart a desire to help children in need. Previously, Tamara served as a mentor for the Parents Aiding and Nuturing developing Adults (PANDA), a Troop Coordinator for the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland as well as served as the Singles Ministry Director at Antioch Church. Currently she holds membership in and/or leadership roles with the Eunice Clement Sligh Foundation, Inc., National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Tamara is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and has served the sorority on the local, state, regionals, and national levels.
Tamara enjoys membership in the NAP and diligently seeks to learn more about Parliamentary Law. She obtained her credentials as a Professional Registered Parliamentarian in June 2018. She has served NAP on various levels as the Howard County Unit President, Secretary for the Maryland Association of Parliamentarians, Executive Assistant for the current and immediate past National Presidents and Webinar Meeting Support Chair. In March 2023, Tamara was elected the District Two Director for the National Association of Parliamentarians.
Professionally, Tamara is a Mathematical Statistician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and has been employed with the United States Federal Government for 27 years, During her home time, she enjoys gardening, learning new hobbies and spending time with her family.
