Join the WebXR Online Coding Support discord at http://thexrweb.com

Do you love to program? Are you interested to either help others learn to program, or are you interested to learn from the coding examples that others make, and possibly to participate in group coding activities should someone have a question?

Who is group is for: People who code, who are learning to code, who need help with code, who want to support others who are coding,
Who this group is not for: People who do not code and do not plan to code.

Wednesday and Friday from 7pm to 10pm we can use discord to do a voice chat with screen sharing, so that we can talk about code, write code, share our code, get help with code, and also explore how to get started with writing webXR applications.

We welcome people to bring presentations, discussions, working code examples, and product demos that utilize webxr or a related code library that is open source such as threejs, A-Frame, babylonjs, playcanvas, webgl 2, wasm, and webgpu.

It is difficult to come up with creative meeting ideas every week so we love it when someone wants to show us their code, or what they are working on, or discuss WebXR related news and events.

We incidentally are also hosting, supporting, and inviting the community to help support the development of the open source aframe-physics-system and the aframe-extras hosted on our github here https://github.com/n5ro

We are generally open to collaborating on group exercises in building open-source projects..
Let's code together! Lets collaborate on building novel new code that anyone can use in their AR and VR applications.

The idea in the beginning was to create a regular weekly open source coding meetup (for A-Frame WebXR). I will share a video link closer to the event, check the hacknight chat in the discord channel for the latest video link.

In our meetups people can code together, improve their coding skill and create open source coding projects together.
(This meetup is not for people who have no intention of doing any programming themselves)

The hosts subscription to zoom now allows automatic cloud recordings of the meetup. Screensharing will be enabled for participants, and I imagine that most of the time someone’s screen will be on the video stream so we can take turns looking at what people are doing with code, and that includes examples.

The host will distribute a group document for each meeting, for the group to take notes in, share links with, you can make copies, this will be shared on the github eventually.

I’ve posted some of the past meetups on the youtube channel. Not sure yet what the long term plan is in terms of posting them online. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVoZKs8z4EEgwtfsbkY2siA/videos?view=57&view_as=subscriber
