Vision Architecture: Art for Youth: Give Yourself Credit!

Details

YOUTH MEETUPS (Ages 10–15 — or anyone young at heart!)

No experience needed, but please bring a drawing you created to make the session valuable for your time. Bring a pencil, paper, your imagination, and a place to sit.

2) Give Yourself Credit! (Ages 10–15)
If you already have a drawing or you attended a "Learn to Draw" session you're ready to sign your artwork! Learn how to sign and date your work so you can remember and other people can understand when you made it. It's important to take care of your art by signing it and storing it safely, and possibly adding a copyright to it. Whether it’s one sketch or a hundred, this is where you start building your artistic portfolio.

In these session we'll look at your artwork(s) and decide how you may want to sign them so you can let the world know about yourself (and to remind yourself when you look back on your drawings):

  • Making your mark - signing your name is a big deal, make it look amazing.
  • When you made it - date, year, time, and maybe even your location.
  • If it belongs to you or not (if you don't sign it and add a copyright notice, someone else may say it belongs to them!)

This is your art, and part of your creative journey, take pride in it - even if it's only for yourself!

As you keep making art, or if you never do again, your art is an example of your own imagination - it's important to take care of your thoughts and visions of the past, present, and future.

Youth pricing:

  • Group sessions: $20 per student
  • Private 1-on-1 sessions: $30 per student

What You Need to Attend – Be Ready to Create!
To make the most of our creative, hands-on Zoom sessions, it’s important that everyone comes prepared and focused. These guidelines help ensure a positive experience for all participants. If someone isn’t able to follow them, they’ll be kindly removed so the rest of the group can stay engaged without distraction.

For Youth Workshops:

  • 📄 8.5 x 11" or larger white paper (up to 11 x 17") – bring at least 4 pages
  • 🔇 A quiet, calm space without loud background noise
  • 🤲 Full focus—no phones, texting, or typing during the workshop
  • 🌐 A stable internet connection
  • 📐 A flat, clutter-free surface to spread out your work
  • 🖥️ A computer or monitor (not a phone) so you can watch and still use both hands to draw
  • 📵 Please don’t join via phone—we’ll be drawing with both hands and moving paper throughout

Next in line for Art for Youth Classes:

3) Share Your Artwork (Ages 15–18+)
We’ll explore how to protect, publish, and present your work. Learn copyright basics, organize your digital portfolio, and consider options for displaying or sharing your art in person or online.

All age ranges are flexible—if you’re 8 and want to join the teen group, or 68 and want to draw sea slugs, you’re welcome. These sessions are inclusive, encouraging, and focused on joyful learning.

Revisit?

If you'd like to revisit any of the following classes I'd love to see you again! Also, if you want a little more one-to-one advice I offer hourly check-ins where you can ask whatever questions you have.

Some of the topics we can take further into one-to-one conversations include exploring how to protect, publish, and present your work. Learn copyright basics, organize your digital portfolio, and consider options for displaying or sharing your art in person or online.

I can't wait to see you next time!
