I have an additional Global DataViz Meetup online event to share with everyone. This one will be hosted by the DataViz Meetup in Munich, Germany, so the event time at 10am, will be much earlier for us.

The talk will be held in English, and they do plan to record the video to share later.

DESCRIPTION FROM MUNICH:
This meetup will combine two things I am really passionate about:

Lately, I have spent a significant amount of time using the Observable platform (https://observablehq.com/) to analyze and visualize data. I am equally impressed by the capabilities of Observable and by the community sharing code every single day! I am very thankful that none other than Robert Kosara, who recently joined Observable will give us an introduction into Observable and the new visualization library Observable Plot.

The second thing I am excited and curious about is to try out a new format. To me, a meetup should be about a technical topic as much as about interacting with the meetup community. Therefore the format of this "learn & chill" meetup starts off with a basic introduction and some live coding. After getting a sense of Observable we hope to eventually convert into an AMA (ask me anything) format where your chat questions will guide us into discussions, answers or more live coding. No prior knowledge is assumed - any (friendly) question will be very welcome!

If this sounds interesting to you, please join us and make this a fun and learning event for all of us!

RSVP here on Meetup to see the Online Event link.

BIO:
Robert Kosara is Data Visualization Developer at Observable, where he helps build a new way of collaborating around data. Before that, he was a researcher at Tableau Software and prior to that, a professor at UNC Charlotte. His research spans many areas of visualization, including collaboration and communication, storytelling, visual perception, and specific techniques such as ISOTYPE, connected scatterplots, and pie charts.
