AFI Parent-Child Talk- children and adolescents impulse control skills

Details

Experts have found that children with self-control are able to think before they act and are more successful than their peers because they are able to resist peer pressure and successfully solve problems. Research shows that self-control is twice as important as intelligence. Children who are able to control impulses have better critical thinking skills to solve problems. They can tolerate more frustrations when it comes to solving problems.

At 9 p.m. on Saturday, AFI Parent-Child College invited Xu Zaiwei, a senior occupational therapist in Taiwan with 23 years of experience in the treatment of children and adolescents, and Guo Fengyi, a doctor of occupational therapy and doctoral supervisor with 28 years of clinical, teaching, and scientific research experience, to teach children and adolescents impulse control skills, so that children can learn to think before taking action.
