Meditation & Discussion (+Potluck!): Finding Peace through Gratitude
Details
Practicing gratitude for what we have can bring us great peace. When we do this, we are not as burdened by what we supposedly lack, or by our problems. This time of Thanksgiving and the holiday season is a great time to reflect on what we are grateful for. Let's practice and discuss!
If you can, please bring a food or drink item to share for a little Friendsgiving potluck after!
Please also bring a journal & pen/pencil for a gratitude journaling exercise.
This event is based on Tristan's personal mastery approach, where we learn to make friends with our mind to cultivate personal growth and inner peace. We explore the intersections of Buddhism, Stoicism, modern Psychology, and other approaches towards this goal.
Our practices generally include some of the following:
- Meditation
- Mindfulness
- Metta (Loving-kindness)
- Breathwork
- Sound bath
- Journaling
No experience with these practices is necessary. Beginners are welcome! Even those of us who have been practicing for years are still learning, and we have so much to learn from each other. As they say in Zen, we must maintain a "beginners mind."
Our discussions are open to a variety of spiritual and scientific approaches to wellbeing, contentment, and enlightenment. We want to hear your ideas, but there's no pressure to speak in the group. If you prefer to just sit and listen, that's great!
Whether you are seeking to find inner peace, or simply a space to connect with like-minded individuals, we invite you to join us on this journey.
Cost: There is no cost to attend, but contributions are appreciated through Venmo @VitaLuminaCo. Please do not feel any pressure to contribute if you are unable. Your presence is enough!
