Peak, Nonordinary and Ecstatic States Workshop

Details
This is a free Zoom workshop. This is a multi-meetup event (see groups here.)
We’ve all had them…those moments when life is ineffably different. The feeling of pure love while looking into the eyes of your partner or child, or the experience of a separate self dissolving into the bliss of feeling oneness at a concert or while dancing. Perhaps it was experiencing an out-of-time flow state while deep in a project. Or a moment walking in nature when you felt deeply interconnected with all of life.
There has also been a rapidly growing adoption of state-altering use of psychedelics, sacred medicines, meditation, and tantra, giving us access to other experiences of reality, or opening us up to ecstatic states such as a life-electrifying kundalini awakening.
Whether peak, expanded, nonordinary, or ecstatic...states of consciousness give us access to new ways of experiencing the world around us.
Often, our experiences are random, or they only happen with the aid of a substance, hours of meditation, or extreme activities...but what if you could access these states intentionally and use them in your everyday life? What if these experiences inform what is possible as humans? How can we use these states to make sense of and impact the world around us?
In this free intro we are going to explore:
- Four types of states and how you can identify when you are in them.
- How these states can give us a greater understanding of what is happening in the world and amplify our impact.
- How these four states enhance each other.
- Why peak states happen and why we don't stay there.
- What kinds of reactions, symptoms, or after-effects can happen.
Learn how Trish Blain’s NonOrdinary approach, Four Forces Framework and Edges Map can help you develop skills to cultivate, navigate, and integrate these nonordinary states.
You will have the opportunity to share and map your experiences for added understanding and insight.
This is an intro workshop to an upcoming training called NonOrdinary Sensemaking, a collaboration course being offered by Trish Blain and Alexander Beiner.
The NonOrdinary Sensemaking course was inspired by the work Trish and Alexander did together to help him prepare for, navigate, and integrate his nonordinary experiences during a ground-breaking trial at Imperial College investigating intravenous DMT. You can read about those experiences, and how we can apply what we learn from nonordinary states to make sense of the world, in his book: The Bigger Picture: How Psychedelics Can Help Us Make Sense of the World.
The NonOrdinary Sensemaking course starts July 18th -- you can learn more at https://nonordinary.com/nonordinary-sensemaking.
