🔥 Let’s Pack City Hall for the Force-Fed Foie Gras Ban Hearing 🔥

This is the second of three readings and will only be council discussion. There is no verbal testimony this time, but the council is accepting more written testimony up until Wednesday.

We need to pack the room to show broad public support. The discussion will influence how the council votes and a strong unified presence could be the difference.

You don’t need to live in Portland to attend. Everyone is welcome, and it doesn’t matter where you live or where you’re registered to vote.

11 AM in-person meet up inside the main foyer on the ground floor of City Hall (SW 4th Ave entrance).

The meeting runs 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM. We are the 16th item on the agenda, out of 17. Both our item and the final item have 45 minutes allocated to them.

I don't want to ask y’all to show up at 9 AM and sit through hours of unrelated city council items, when our item likely won't be read until 11:30 or even noon, especially because some of you may be taking time off from work to be there. It's incredibly difficult to predict the timing for these meetings, so much of this is guesswork.

Thanks for being flexible and ready to show up!

Let’s bring a respectful, energized, and unified presence.

What to expect:

Council discussion and potential amendments (The vote will happen at the subsequent hearing in the following weeks).

How you can help:

✅ Attend in person

✅ Submit written testimony

You should only submit if you did NOT submit before the first reading on April 29.

What to wear:

If you have a Pro-Animal Oregon shirt, please wear it. If not, one will be provided for you.

Polite request: please avoid shirts that mention veganism or could be interpreted as vegan messaging so we keep the focus on the ordinance and make it easy for everyone to feel included.

Parking near City Hall can be limited, so please plan extra time and consider carpooling, biking, or transit if you can.

Let’s pack City Hall with supporters. We need a strong showing for animals!
