What we’re about

We are currently working on creating a forest where international exchange can take place and building a community centered around that forest.
There are many forests in Japan that have been abandoned and neglected over time.
We aim to revitalize one such forest by maintaining it, creating a comfortable space, and adding new value to it that is relevant to modern times.
Our three main themes of the new value we are trying to make are: 1) promoting health, 2) meeting diverse people, and 3) learning languages.
We aim to create a community where people can enjoy the healing power of nature while engaging in physical activities, relieving stress, and learning English and Japanese through interactions with diverse individuals.
We are located in Ogawa town, Saitama prefecture, which is easily accessible by a one-hour train ride with no transfer from Ikebukuro in Tokyo.
We organize events such as hiking, roasting marshmallows over a mini-campfire, drinking coffee while taking a forest bathing, and having barbecues in the forest. Please feel free to join us!
We also hold volunteer events where we work together to maintain the forest and create a community.
Even if you don't have any special skills, you can participate in the volunteer work. We are happy to have anyone who is interested in helping to turn this abandoned forest into a valuable community space.
Here are some examples of volunteer work that we may do, but these are just a few examples. Depending on the needs at the time, there may be other tasks as well. We would love to hear creative ideas from our participants too.
Examples:
[Forest maintenance work]
Maintaining forest trails, collecting firewood (leaves, branches, etc.), making firewood, mowing grass, building a wooden deck, creating event spaces, etc.
[Event-day support]
Guiding people from the train station to the forest, guiding people on mountain climbs, helping with mini-campfire and drip coffee preparation for events, taking photos or videos of the events, etc.
[Language]
Teaching Japanese or English
[Planning]
Designing an attractive forest, finding people who are interested in the forest, creating economically sustainable activities in the forest, etc.

私たちは現在、国際交流ができる森作りと、その森を中心としたコミュニティ作りを行っています。
日本には、昔利用されていたけど、現代では利用されなくなり荒れてしまった森が各地にたくさんあります。
そういった森の一つを再び整備し、滞在するのに気持ちの良い空間を作り、現代に合わせた新たな価値を生み出すことで再生しようとしています。
森を中心に新たに作り出そうとしている価値のテーマは、①健康②多様な人との出会い③語学です。
自然豊かな環境で体を動かしながら癒され、ストレスを解消し、多様な人々と出会いながら英語や日本語を学ぶことのできるコミュニティを目指しています。
場所は、埼玉県小川町。東京の池袋から電車で1本、約1時間で来ることができます。
この森では、ハイキングをしたり、焚き火をしてマシュマロを焼いて食べたり、コーヒーを飲んで森林浴をしたり、ベーベキューをしたりするイベントを開催するので、是非参加してください！
また、森やコミュニティ作りを一緒に行う仲間として、ボランティア活動イベントにも参加してください！
ボランティアワークには色々な作業があるので、専門的なスキルがなくても誰でも参加できます。
以前使われなくなった森を使える場にして行きたいので、森に来てくれるだけでも嬉しいです。
具体例があった方がイメージがしやすいと思うのでボランティアワークの例をいくつか記載しますが、あくまでも一例に過ぎません。
その時のフェーズによって必要な作業も変わってきますし、参加者の方にもクリエイティブに色んな案を出してもらえると嬉しいです。
例：
【森での整備作業】
・森の歩道整備、焚き火のための木材集め（落ち葉、木の枝など）、薪作り、草刈り、ウッドデッキ作り、イベントスペース作りなど。
【イベント当日のお手伝い】
・駅から森へのガイドや山登りのガイドの手伝い
・イベントで使用する焚き火作りやドリップコーヒーを入れる手伝い
・写真やビデオの撮影など
【言語】
・日本語や英語のティーチングなど
【プラニング】
・魅力的な森をデザインするアイディア
・森に魅力を感じてくれる人を集めるアイディア
・森での活動を経済的に持続可能なものにするためのアイディアなど
【コミュニティマネジメント】
