THE CAUSE

The American Diabetes Association mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The ADA leads the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fight for those affected—by diabetes.

The ADA...

funds research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes.
delivers services to hundreds of communities.
provides objective and credible information.
gives voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes.

THE EVENT

In St. Louis, fundraising for the local chapter of the ADA is through the Tour de Cure Bicycle ride and the Stepping Out For Diabetes walk events.

The Tour de Cure is a self-paced fundraising bike ride with the cyclist's choice of a 16, 30, 50 or 100 mile route beginning and ending at Raging Rivers Water Park in Grafton, Il. For those interested in participating and/or fundrasing, click here. (https://tour.diabetes.org/site/TR/TourdeCure/TDC355418030?pg=entry&fr_id=6879)

Click the above or below links to RSVP for the Tour de Cure 2010 Kickoff Party, Wednesday 3 March, 530p @ Autohaus BMW, 3015 S. Hanley, 63143.

The Tour de Cure even has it's own Tour de Cure Meetup Group (https://www.meetup.com/Tour-de-Cure-St-Louis/) for those who want to stay in the Tour de Cure loop more easily.

Volunteers are needed along the routes as rest stop captains, rest stop workers, safety and medical help, registration, parking lot directors, set-up crew, clean-up crew, and food & beverage workers.

In addition to receiving a fine ADA wardrobe-enhancing T-shirt, Volunteers will need to bring sunscreen, lawn chairs, any snacks you want to munch on, a big smile and a helpful spirit. Remember, your efforts are helping raise valuable dollars toward research and education programs that will one day lead toward a cure for diabetes.
