Volunteering as a Pathway to Employment in the Netherlands
The Social Hub The Hague, Hoefkade 9, Den Haag, ZH, NLGaining local experience as a volunteer gives you more credibility as a job applicant. Join us to find out how to make the most of your volunteer experience! Sarah Feid, Account Manager at The Hague International Centre, will give an inspiring presentation based on her personal and professional experience.
Navigating the Dutch job market can feel daunting, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. In this presentation, Sarah will share her journey from international student to professional at a Dutch company. She will offer a candid look at Dutch work culture, Dutch CV writing and inform you about which industries are most welcoming to international talent.
Along the way, she’ll reveal how volunteering played an essential role in her job search in The Netherlands. In addition to giving back to society, it became a powerful way to expand her professional network, gain new skills and stand out from other candidates.
You’ll leave with practical insights on how to apply for jobs and inspiration to use volunteering as a stepping stone toward your own career opportunities in the Netherlands.
This presentation is part of Volunteer The Hague's Mix & Match Volunteer Job Fair held on November 29, 2025. This event is free but requires registration as places are limited.
