[NYC H2O] Lemon Creek Beach Cleanup Sept. 30th

[NYC H2O] Lemon Creek Beach Cleanup Sept. 30th

Details

Make a Difference: Protecting wetlands protects human, avian and marine life! Join us and our partners, NRPA - Natural Resources Protective Association, Council Member Joseph C. Borelli and the Staten Island Museum in cleaning up Lemon Creek (Staten Island). The cleanup will run from 10am to 12pm. A pizza lunch will be provided for volunteers after the cleanup. At 12:30, naturalist Clay Wollney will lead a hands-on seining net adventure. We’ll see close-up some of the creatures that live in Prince’s Bay that we helped protect from beach garbage.

Optional bus transportation to Lemon Creek Park will be provided for a $5 fee from Union Square in Manhattan (space is limited); the bus will depart at 9am and will return to Union Square after the cleanup.

Gloves, garbage bags, and pickers will be provided.

Rain date is Sunday Oct 1 at 10 am.
