New member/beginner paddle at Cracker Creek in Port Orange.

This is for all members, but if you're new to the group this is a good chance to come and meet some new friends and do some easy paddling. IF YOU ARE A REGULAR OUTINGS ATTENDEE, please wait a few days before RSVPing for this to give new members a chance to sign up.

We are not instructors but we will provide basic paddling tips if you've never kayaked. Cracker Creek is close to the coast, and they have rental kayaks. We will meet there for a 2.5 hour easy paddle. They have very clean rest rooms. There is a $5.00 fee as it is private property. This is paid at the cabin in the middle of the property. You do need to Contact them Ahead of time if you want to Rent a
Kayak. The park is located at 1795 Taylor Road, very simple access from anywhere in Volusia County. But keep your eyes peeled for the sign, it's on a short dirt road.

BEGINNER PADDLERS: Range from individuals who are trying kayaking for the first time to individuals who have gone on 6 to 7 paddles over 2-3 hours duration. Beginners generally do not yet have their own kayak and gear.

We will be scheduling new paddles each month, so this is a good chance to gain some simple skills. We're looking forward to having you join us! Members may bring one guest. All attendees must sign a Sierra Club release form.

It is expected that all those joining us will be familiar with their own abilities AND limitations, exercising sound judgment as to their personal fitness level for this outing. We will be in a wilderness area inaccessible to emergency services

Each attendee should be reasonable fit and be aware of their abilities and limitations.
