Sunday Dive at Beach Diver Cove

Details

Beach Diver Cove is a hidden gem among the many treasures of South Florida diving. A cozy little beach nestled between two stone jetties leads into a cove protected from northerly winds by a larger jetty nearby. The lagoon-like setting attracts large schools of tarpon, spinner sharks, porpoise, and other species interested in the clouds of baitfish driven there by currents and circumstance. It is enough just to hover above the sand as the action surrounds you.

To the east and south, lie the west facing ledges of the first primary reef. There is so much to see and do, one almost forgets the dive is supposed to be a relaxing drift in a peaceful cove. You choose the pace and your camera will record the story. This dive is one our favorite go-to’s when we just want to chill and blow bubbles.

Parking is at the Jetty Pavilion. The restroom, ample parking, and freshwater showers are amenities that come with the $4 entrance fee. This dive is within the abilities and training of open water divers who have some experience and who know how to enter through the surf.
