Pasadena - Bach to the Future!

Thursday, July 17th, 7:00 - 9:30 pm, we're back in Pasadena at Hawg Heaven BBQ & Gastro Pub located right in the heart of Old Town Pasadena.

This is a free in-person event, showcasing one game in development that needs your play testing feedback, and two fully released games. Even if you've already played the game up for testing, there's always something new to enjoy.

Step into the rhythm of history and innovation at our next VR Triple Feature in Pasadena, where music takes center stage—past, present, & future. This month's theme: “Bach to the Future.” We’ll explore what it means to control the sound — from the elegant gestures of classical conducting to the beat-dropping artistry of modern DJs — all in virtual and mixed reality.

DJAY
Take the decks in this interactive DJ simulator! Mix, scratch, loop, and drop the beat like you're headlining a virtual music festival. Whether you're a beginner or a beat pro, DJay transforms your headset into a full DJ setup with decks, turntables, and rhythm-reactive visuals. We’ll also have a real turntable on deck to deepen the immersion—get hands-on and feel the music move! Check it out!

MAESTRO
Channel your inner composer and step onto the conductor’s podium in Maestro. Using intuitive hand-tracking and a VR baton, lead a virtual orchestra through stirring classical pieces. Learn what it takes to guide music with precision, power, and a bit of flair. Get a sneak peak here!

BANJAX
Resident VR game-in-development! Become a master of the Banjax, a magical flying disc that you'll send whizzing through the air to meet its target. Once, a dark wizard wove a fiendish spell to mesmerize and enslave all who came into contact with it. Travel the many worlds, and shatter artifacts of that curse with your Banjax. Befriend a creature named Ruellia, and fly on her back to other worlds where your skills of shattering will be put to the test.

Banjax has been in development for about three years, by David Barlia (that's me!) The feedback I've garnered from playtesting at these events has been invaluable in making a polished, fun experience. I invite other XR developers to present their projects--please, don't be shy! The sooner you let people play, the sooner you can find out what needs work!
