Room-Scale Vive VR Demo Night

Come demo VR games on some of the most impressive VR hardware in the world. Try out the HTC Vive and mingle with the folks from Valve, HTC, and NVIDIA at this extra-special VR event in downtown Austin, TX!

There's a VR Jam?

On May 9th and 10th (the weekend before this event), with the help of HTC, Valve, and NVIDIA, Owlchemy Labs will be bringing some of the brightest minds into one room to build entirely new room-scale VR experiences at the first ever Room-Scale Vive VR Jam.

These experiences allow the player to stand and walk around in VR in an unobstructed 15' by 15' space with fully tracked motion controllers, thanks to SteamVR and the HTC Vive.

With incredible demos likely to emerge from the VR jam the weekend before, this Monday night VR Austin event will serve as a demo night to try out the Vive and the awesome experiences created just days beforehand.

Food and Drink:

Since this is Austin -- yes, we will have a taco truck parked outside for Monday night's event.

We'll also be providing snacks and a wide assortment of drinks for the event. No drinks allowed near the Vive dev kits ;-)

Details:

This VR Austin demo night is free and open to the public, as always! With that in mind, there may be a bit of a line to try out the Vive kits, as we will only have 3 room-scale setups. Note we have to operate within fire code, which prevents more than 200 people from being inside the building at any one time. I presume we'll have near that amount of people showing up. With that, we're not making any 100% promises of the ability to try the Vive (nor would we want to make that promise) but we'll certainly do everything we can to make sure everyone gets a chance to try the hardware.
