Virtual Screening Week: "Coded Bias" Documentary, 12/7-12/13

Details

We're so honored to co-host this week-long virtual screening of "Coded Bias" to coincide with Computer Science Education Week.

CODED BIAS follows MIT Media Lab researcher Joy Buolamwini’s startling discovery that many facial recognition technologies fail more often on darker-skinned faces, and delves into an investigation of widespread bias in artificial intelligence.

Please note that viewings will be geographically restricted to Vermont, so even if you're a Vermonter in your soul, you'll have to be in the state to attend the virtual screening week. Flatlanders in Vermont will also be able to watch ;)

We'd love to see how this state-wide screening plays out in homes, organizations, and classes across the state. Please share pictures, ideas, and your 'Coded Bias' experience using the hashtag: #codedbiasvt

We will also be hosting a panel discussion with the director, Shalini Kantayya, on Saturday, December 12th at 8PM ET -- stay tuned for more details and an additional event listing!
