In tech fields, we work in an incredibly fast-paced environment. We're constantly bombarded by information (both technical and social). Keeping up with the latest tech AND growing our careers and feeling fulfilled can be a constant and overwhelming battle. Let's explore how telling your boss what to do or trying things that make you nervous can launch your career. I will explore 7 practical tips and strategies for career advancement and personal satisfaction that you can apply immediately to be a happier and more successful human being (hey, developers are human beings too!).

Kim is the Head of Developer Relations & Community at Gatsby, an Auth0 Ambassador, Google Developer Expert in Security & Identity, and Microsoft MVP in Developer Technologies. She's passionate about making the web a better place, building things with JavaScript, constant learning, and developer communities. As a developer advocate leader, engineer, and international speaker, she loves learning from and sharing with other inhabitants of the tech space. She also enjoys mentoring engineers who are interested in leadership.

When clicking the event link, you'll be prompted to download Zoom if you haven't previously used it. If you don't want to download the application, you can also use the web client, which works best in Chrome.

Once in the Zoom meeting, we ask that you:

• mute your audio when not speaking
• use chat features to ask questions as they come up (Zoom has a "raise your hand" feature to indicate when you have a question - this will be especially helpful during Q&A)

Finally, the Meeting capacity will be plenty large for all attendees - feel free to invite any of your Vue friends who can't normally attend in-person! We just ask that people RSVP to the Meetup here in advance.
