Not every AI pilot is meant to scale. Some are stopped for good reasons, while others become part of everyday work.

AI pilots rarely go exactly to plan. Hear from practitioners who have tested ideas in real workplaces and are willing to share the full story, including what worked, what stopped, what changed, and what ultimately made a pilot worth continuing. The conversation focuses on the decisions, lessons, and real-world conditions behind each outcome.

## Who this is for

This is an open community meetup for:

  • Practitioners and professionals
  • Business owners and operators
  • Council and government officers
  • Students and researchers
  • WA AI Hub alumni
  • Anyone interested in practical AI implementation

No technical background is required.

## What we will do together

  • Hear real pilot stories: Discover what people tested, why they started, and what they hoped to improve.
  • Explore what stopped: Look at why some pilots did not continue, including issues with value, risk, data, people, process, or implementation.
  • See what scaled: Learn what helped other pilots move from an experiment into regular use.
  • Understand the decisions: Explore how feedback, evidence, risk, and user experience shaped the next step.
  • Share and compare: Bring your own questions and experiences into an open conversation with the WA community.

## What you will take home

  • A practical session prompt card
  • An invitation to the free WA AI Readiness Snapshot, a 12-question diagnostic
  • A pathway map showing which WA AI Hub session, if any, may suit your next step
  • Practical lessons for assessing and progressing AI pilots
