About us
Welcome to Wadsworth Adventurers! My name is Cynthia and my husband (Tom) and I have been members of "WA" since its inception.

Cooks Forest, PA Camping & Hiking
Cook Forest State Park Office, 100 PA-36, Cooksburg, PA, USJoin us for a camping adventure at Cook Forest State Park, in Cooksburg, PA. Over the 3 days/nights - we will hike & camp. Jim and Dan will lead the hikes. We can have an optional bike ride too, if you'd like.
A majestic 6,000-acre expanse with an eight-mile frontage on the Clarion River. Cook Forest State Park is home to the largest stand of virgin white pine east of the Mississippi River, a testament to the enduring natural beauty that has defined Clarion County since its inception.
Make your camping reservations at Cook Forest State Park Reserve America this blue link right here. There looks to be several tent sites still available. Once booked, put your site number in the comments.
Afterwards, we are moving on through PA to Cherry Springs for one night to see the stars and milky way in one of the best dark skies parks in the East. If you have interest in that, let me know, I don't want to add to this event directly.

CONFIRMED: Kokosing River Valley Camping Weekend
Cave's Capground, 26942 Austin Rd, Howard, OH, USWe are doing a long weekend (3-4 nights) in the Kokosing River Valley area for camping along the river, Biking the Kokosing Gap Trail (14 miles one way), kayaking the Kokosing and hiking the Honey Run trails and the Honey Run Waterfalls.
Rough itinerary would look like this:
Thurs. 7/30. Arrive Cave's Campground - group bonfire and gathering
Friday 8/1- Hiking the trails in and around Honey Run and Knox County
Saturday 8/2 - Bike the Kokosing GAP Trail - 14 miles one-way (TBD if we will shuttle back or make it 28 mi R/T) evening bonfire / gathering
Sunday 8/3 EARLY MORNING (7:30a) - would love to set off early in the morning to kayak the Kokosing River from point to point. Will work on shuttle logistics / or self shuttle options.
Sunday afternoon - Pack up and head home.
So - I called Cave's Campgrounds - the guy is SUPER laid back - he said $40 a night for RV with water hookup, and $10 extra if a tent is put on the ground. There is no place to register, and really nothing to do - he won't even take a reservation until "closer to the time" . There are sites on the river, but we might be back a tad - but it looks awesome, and not busy with lots of people running all over - just our kind of thing. If you trust the process and want to go.... then that's the plan. There are also Teepees for rent if you want to do that (they look cool - honestly). He can accommodate both RV-trailer and tents. If the new dates work for you, sign up, I think this is going to be a wonderful trip.
