Tionesta Kayak Camp Weekend

Let's do a little kayak camping in August! Join us in Tionesta, PA for a 2 night kayak camp adventure. If you've never done anything like this - we will make it easy for you. I hear this place is beyond beautiful, I've never been and am really looking forward to going.

Friday night, we meet at the Tionesta Recreational Outflow Campgrounds for a pre-paddle planning session. We will stay the night at the Outflow campground and site reservations must be secured. Outflow Rec Area Campgrounds Reservation Link

On Saturday morning, we pack our boats for the paddle on Tionesta Creek feeding into Tionesta Lake. There we hope to find one of the many lakeside campsites open and available. These sites are first come, first served so there are no guarantees that we will secure one, but we will do everything we can to accomplish our mission. Once on land, we will need to harvest some wood for campfire - set up our tents, prep our site - and then go out for another paddle around the area. Later we will settle in for dinner, campfire & convo - and a well-deserved rest.

Kayak camping is a lot like backpacking only with an opportunity for a few more lbs of gear. A beginner's style boat is NOT RECOMMENDED for this trip and rentals are not available. If you have questions, let me know.

Sunday morning, we pack up (leave no trace principals) - load our boats for the paddle back to the vehicles before driving home. Option for lunch once are boats are back on dry land.

This experience is fully primitive - no potable water, no electric, no bathrooms for Saturday night. You will also need to be fully self-reliant. Happy to provide some advice, if needed.
