Alum Creek CampOut / Holiday Tent Decorating / Light Show!

Update 12/2 - Well eventually the weather has to be cold for our camp event- this is that year. Still the trip is do-able with some adjustments. We will now take in the lights on FRIDAY night - so if it becomes unbearable on Saturday, we can call an audible if needed. Speaking of audible, there was some talk about watching the OSU game - either at camp or hopefully in a warm pub somewhere on Saturday. We will still try to hike on Saturday - but please dress in layers (NO COTTON), waterproof boots, suitable hat, gloves, etc. If you have crampons, bring them. We will adjust as needed to keep everyone comfortable & safe.
Plan on pitching in to buy firewood or bring a fair amount with you. Everyone seems to want to do their own thing for food. We will probably go to a restaurant for breakfast.
Back by popular demand!!!! We are headed back to Alum Creek for our annual winter camp out. Join us for hiking, bonfires, tent decorating, ugly Christmas sweater party, delicious food and of course, THE LIGHTS!!! Alum State Park Light Show
Alum is so cool in the winter as the place is almost empty and we have plenty of room to setup!
The sites will have electric available, so you can setup a small heater in your tent if you want. Last year - we had our tent super warm and comfy - weather is usually not as cold as you might think.
We will take in the Drive Thru light show on Friday evening and hike on Saturday during the day. Every site reservation gets a free ticket to the light show and front-of-the-line priority access.
We will have a central canopy area for the bonfires and dining! Flush toilets are available, but I think the shower house will be closed.

Site costs of $35/night (there are some discounts available) and they are pretty small so be mindful if sharing with someone. if you book on the inside of loop B (B30-B43) we can have a little more room.
