Butterfly Count for Wake County
Date: Friday, August 15th. Time: 8:30- am to 5:00 pm ( you can stop earlier)
On August 15th, a handful of us will conduct another butterfly count in Wake County. We have been doing this for 20+ years. It is similar to a Christmas Bird Count.
If you would like to join someone to see how it is done, and learn some butterflies, and perhaps think about helping in future years, please contact John Gerwin at birdnerdie@gmail.com
We have several groups going out, and we cover different locations throughout the day. Thus, you could join for say 2-3 hours and you need not be outside all day. John G works with John Connors (who organizes the event) - they can help align you with someone. (Both John's are willing to take a few folks and we have half a dozen leaders).
Please contact us at least a week before the event to assign you to a group. There is no state location but you will receive this information when you contact John.
