What we’re about
Welcome to Wake Up Dublin, a community of young adults coming together to practice mindfulness in the Plum Village tradition, founded by Vietnamese Zen Master, Thích Nhất Hạnh.
We gather every other Sunday evening in Oscailt, 8 Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 and host an open evening on the first Sunday of every month to welcome new practitioners.
During this time we may practice:
- Sitting meditation
- Walking meditation
- Reading
- Dharma sharing
- Deep relaxation
- Singing Meditation
- Chanting
All young adults aged between 18-35 are welcome to attend. For those above this age range there is the Open Heart Sangha, also in the Plum Village tradition. We request a €5 cash donation if you can afford it to cover the cost of the room and our MeetUp membership.
The Plum Village Monastery in France, was founded in 1982 by zen master, poet and peace activist Thích Nhất Hạnh (called Thây by his students). Thây was a global spiritual leader revered throughout the world for his powerful teachings and bestselling writings on mindfulness and peace. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967. You can find out more about him, the tradition and monasteries on the Plum Village Website.
Feel free to contact us with any questions and we look forward to welcoming you to our next Sangha open evening.
