The annual Ruby Festival held at the nearby lakeside is only a couple of weeks away, but there are reports of people having gone missing who were scouting the location. The forest path to the lake may have overgrown, or maybe forest creatures are making the journey unsafe. Your group has been asked to investigate and make the journey safe again.
