New Formats for Spanish–English Language Exchange

*** In order to respect everyone in the event, we ask you to be on time. Please note that the door will be closed and we will not answer the phone after 6:15pm.***

Hello everyone,

Based on recent feedback and discussions with members who have participated in our Spanish–English exchange events, we are happy to introduce new formats for our upcoming sessions.

Discussion Topics

For each event, discussion topics will be selected in advance. Members are welcome to propose topics, provided they meet the following criteria:

• They are controversial
• They affect many people

For example, the following two topics have been selected for the event on January 2, 2026:

  1. Are traditional gender roles still relevant in modern society?
  2. Is economic globalization doing more harm than good?

Discussion Format & Rules

• Participants will be divided into three groups: For, Against, and Neutral
• Each group will have 3 minutes per round to present their ideas
• For each presentation:
- One participant will speak in English
- Another participant will speak in Spanish
• The moderator will decide how many rounds are conducted for each topic
