Introductive walk of Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge

Details
Join me for an introduction to our local Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. The TRNWR is unique because it is an urban wildlife refuge open to the public. See how the sanctuary is helping to preserve, restore, and enhance the natural ecosystem of animal and plant life.
Learn about what the refuge can offer you and how you can volunteer to help the sanctuary.
The Seasonal trail has closed for the season; however, the year-round trail is open. The trail traverses approximately one mile of graveled surface. Brief introductions and comments will follow as we stroll through eco-habitats, observing varied flora and fauna. We will also touch on the refuge's history and future.
Cooler weather is moving in at the Refuge, and so are flights of migrating birds. The stage is set, and the Eagles have returned to assume their balcony seats to view wings of mallards, Northern pintails, American widgeons, green-winged teal, ringneck, and Northern shovelers that arrive daily. This month, you can expect a magnificent return of more than 10,000 cackler Canada geese.
The walk takes 1 to 2 hours, depending on the wildlife observed and the identification of native plants and trees.
Be aware the Refuge does not allow pets, bicycles, drones, or jogging.
This walk is open to all but limited to 10 persons per outing.
