*The town was named after Rev. Eliphalet Ball. (fun to say out loud)
*In 1803, the Sans Souci Hotel was the largest hotel in the US and hosted presidents and many dignitaries.
*Two natural springs are located in town, the Hawthorne and Lithia.
*Several scenes from Sidney Pollack's 1973 film "The Way We Were" were filmed along Front St.
