Follow the route along this quaint village's streets and sidewalks. Note the grave of America's 8th president, Martin Van Buren. Enjoy the village Farmers Market following the walk.
In addition to President Martin Van Buren's grave you will note the great collection of well preserved older homes and buildings. The Kinderhook Village District on both sides of Route 9 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
All walkers must sign in and pay the $4 walk fee. Choose either a 5k or 10k route. Pets are welcome on this walk."Enjoy this lovely walk in historic Kinderhook, grave site of Martin Van Buren. You will be walking in the Kinderhook Village District on both sides of route which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, in village neighborhoods, in the cemetery, and along the Empire State Trail (10k). After the walk on Saturday you can enjoy the Farmer's Market which you will pass on the route. You may wish to also consider a stop at Samascott's Garden Market for plants, lunch, and homemade ice cream :). Bathrooms are available at the start point with elevator access as necessary."
