Walk Scenic Trails

THE WEATHER FORECAST SHOWS VERY COLD TEMPERSTURES AT 9:00, SO LET'S MEET AT 11:00.
We will meet outside the Nature Center prior to 11:00 a.m. to introduce ourselves. At 11:00 a.m., we will leave the Nature Center, cross the bridge over South Creek and walk the green trail up to the Eagles Nest.

We will walk at a moderate pace and stop along the way to see birds. You might want to bring binoculars.

Entry fee is $4 for a single occupancy vehicle.

Drive 0.9 mile up the park road from the park entrance to the Lake Osprey Visitor Center.

This is a beautiful area with over 5 miles of wooded trails. One trail has views of the Myakka River and branches off to a side trail that will bring us right down to the river and a kayak landing.

MEETING TIME IS 9:00 AM. Meetup software provides a default meeting time of 7:00 p.m. and I have been unable to change it when creating the event on my phone.

Last year there was a porta-potty in the parking lot, so it probably is still there.

Driving east on Border Road, the entrance to the Preserve is on the left just before the bridge going over the Myakka River.
