Our first walk in Oscar Scherer was on the green trail up to the eagles nest. Today, we will take the South Creek Nature Trail from the South Creek Picnic Area up to the Nature Center. I think this is the prettiest walk in the park and looks like the above photo.... a narrow trail with tall trees and heavy vegetation on both sides. The trail goes along South Creek so there are lots of water views. The only drawback is that the roots of those beautiful tall trees make their way into the path, creating lots of trip hazards. This will be a leisurely walk so that we can avoid getting a really "close look" at those roots. (I walked the trail this morning to make sure it was well maintained.)

If people want to increase the distance of the walk, an equally beautiful Lester Finley Trail goes from the other end of the picnic area down to the entrance of the park.

Before 10:00 a.m., meet in the parking area of the South Creek Picnic Area. We will leave the picnic area at 10:00 a.m. sharp. There is a prominent sign at the entrance to the South Creek Picnic Area on the right side of the main park road, less than half a mile from the Park entrance. My white Chrysler Pacifica with a Florida Everglades license plate will be parked in the left of the parking area. There are usually fewer than 10 cars in that parking area.
I will be the person with a very sweet, black German Shepherd on a leash.

There are restrooms in the picnic area.

Entry fee is $4 for one person in a car. $6 for multiple people in a car.

Hope to see you on Tuesday. It's a beautiful walk.
