A walk in the Tommy Thompson Park - Event fee of $5 or membership required

We will meet at the main entrance Pavilion/parking area at 10 am sharp, located at 3 Leslie St. The walk would be to the lighthouse and back using various pedestrian paths and brown trails (if walkable after winter) that are beginner friendly.

BRING water, hat, sunblock and snack as nothing is available for purchase in the park. It is a 7.5 mile/ 12 km walk, and an additional km at the end to do coffee at Starbucks on Leslie St.

Also, note that dogs are not permitted in the Tommy Thompson Park.

This is a paid event. To attend this event you need to either

1. Become an annual member of this group. Sign up for memberships here (select either Walk & Coffee Annual Membership OR GTA Book Club + Walk & Coffee Combo Annual Membership)
2. E-transfer (Interac) the event fee to mojo620@gmail.com (put your Full Name as it appears on Meetup.com in the message or memo)
3. Pay the event fee in Cash

Assumption of Risk: Walking involves inherent risks, including the possibility of a fall or severe injury. These risks may not be fully described here and unforeseen risks may also occur. By choosing to participate in this event, you are acknowledging and assuming all risks.

Assumption of Preparedness: You agree to come prepared for the event with clothing, gloves, cap, and shoes as appropriate for the weather and conditions as prevalent on the day of the event. It is also assumed that if you need to leave the event midway through the event, then you will inform the organizer before doing so.

Assumption of Attitude: You agree to approach this event with a mindset conducive to our shared experience. This is an opportunity to socialize, enjoy beautiful natural surroundings, and savor quality coffee at the conclusion. While engaging with every attendee is not mandatory, you come with an attitude of respect and civility toward all present. This gathering is meant to be a civilized where everyone can feel comfortable and appreciated in our collective enjoyment of nature and community.

Assumption of Participation: You agree that signing up for the event and not showing up without notice demonstrates disrespect for others who may wish to participate if the event reaches capacity. This behaviour contradicts the Assumption of Attitude stated above. If you cannot attend, please update your RSVP at least 2 hours before the event begins. Failure to do so may result in the organizer taking discretionary action regarding your future participation in this group.
