Carson Beach to Dorchester Heights

Park at Carson Beach in South Boston and walk up G Street to the newly restored Grounds and Monument. This is a few days prior to the official ceremonies of the encampment and cannons that broke the British occupation of Boston in 1776. The monument which has been closed for years is newly restored and may not yet be open to climb until the following weekend.

Visitor parking is along the grassy side of Columbia Road. (the other side, near the buildings, is for Residents).
The grounds are also accesible by Red Line subway from the other side of the hill.
