About us
A social group for people who like to get outside, get moving, and then reward themselves with a well-earned coffee afterwards. Each event includes a relaxed walk (not a hike!) and ends with a café meet-up where everyone can chat and get to know each other. Great for newcomers, locals, and anyone looking for friendly faces.

Sketch & Wander at the Botanics
Royal Botanic Garden East Gate, Inverleith Row, Edinburgh, GBJoin us for a sketching session at the Botanics, trying out something a little different for the group.
Please bring your own sketchbook and materials. ✍🏻 I’ve got lots of Sharpies, so if you would like to borrow some, just let me know and I’ll happily bring them along.
We’ll move around rather than staying in one spot for too long, spending around 15 minutes at a time doing quick sketches inspired by nature, plants and the surroundings.
No experience needed, this is just a friendly, informal chance to sketch together and enjoy the gardens.
If people are keen afterwards, we can head to the Botanics cafe for a drink and a chat.
Meeting point: East Gate, next to the beautiful entrance gate.
Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early. We’ll wait for around 5 minutes after the start time, but won’t be able to wait too long before heading off for our sketching walk.
Please support the group by donating £3 Thank you!

European Land Art Festival with photographer John Swan
Pret a Manger, Waverley Station,, EDINBURGH, GBWe’re very excited to visit the European Land Art Festival in Dunbar, one of Scotland's most unique outdoor art events!
We'll be joined by Dunbar resident and professional photographer John Swan, who has kindly offered to lead the walk and share some of his favourite local spots along the way. As both a local and a creative, John will be be able to tell us more about the area and point out some fantastic photography opportunities.
The festival celebrates temporary artworks created from natural materials, including stones, sand, seaweed and driftwood. These beautiful creations are designed to exist only for a short time before nature gradually reclaims them, making every visit completely unique.
On Sunday we'll be able to watch some of the festival highlights, including:
• Adult Arch Balance Competition
• Adult Artistic Stone Balancing CompetitionThese incredible displays of balance and patience attract talented artists from across Europe, with sculptures ranging from gravity-defying stone towers to intricate artistic compositions.
If everyone is up for it afterwards, we'll enjoy a walk along the beautiful cliff-top path towards Belhaven, taking in the spectacular coastal scenery before finishing with a coffee or another drink.
Meeting point (travelling from Edinburgh): Next to Pret A Manger inside Waverley Station at 10:50am to catch the 11:21am train to Dunbar.
Please don't forget to buy your train tickets in advance to help ensure a smooth boarding process.Meeting in Dunbar: If you'd prefer to make your own way by train, bus or car, you can meet us at 12:00pm in the car park of Dunbar Leisure Pool.
Finish time: I've set the event finish time as 6pm for planning purposes. Of course, you're very welcome to leave earlier if you wish to, or stay a bit longer and continue enjoying the festival or Dunbar at your own pace.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. If you enjoy photography, don't forget to bring your camera.
Looking forward to a brilliant day exploring Dunbar, admiring some amazing land art and enjoying good company!
The event is free, and John has very kindly agreed to lead the walk for free too.
I’d really appreciate any contributions to help support the running of the group. Please donate using the link provided if you’re able to
