Walk Your Way: Run for Ability supported by Bupa and hosted by The DO is a 3.5 km guided loop around Victoria Peak that brings people of different abilities together in an inclusive outdoor experience. Alongside 3 participants in wheelchairs, 20-30 walkers and runners will share the path, highlighting the importance of accessibility and the joy of moving together.
The walk will conclude at a shaded resting area, where both wheelchair users and able-bodied hikers will gather for a time of sharing. This closing moment is designed to reflect on the experience and to connect around themes of health, wellness, and the therapeutic power of nature. More than a walk, it is a chance to celebrate diversity, build empathy, and enjoy the city’s green spaces in good company.

This experience is part of Healthy Cities Hong Kong, a movement powered by Bupa to inspire healthier, more sustainable urban living. It is organised by The DO, curating engaging experiences that bring people together to explore the connection between personal health and the health of our city — one step at a time

This event will support Action Asia Foundation (AAF), a registered charity in Hong Kong. Their mission is to empower people with disabilities by providing electric wheelchairs, rehabilitation, mental health support, education, vocational training, employment and adaptive sports creating real independence and purpose.

Run for Ability is the initiative that sparked AAF’s current focus. Founded by ultra-runner Jo Lodder, it began as his epic ultramarathon challenge in Hong Kong to raise awareness and funds . The program uses endurance running and outdoor adventures to generate support. Every penny helps a disabled person gain an electric wheelchair, access education, rehabilitation, and job opportunities. In Jo’s words: “When we run with freedom, we run for those who cannot”.
