Details
Leavitt Street is named after David Leavitt, a New York City banker and financier. He played a key role in the completion of the Illinois and Michigan Canal, a vital waterway linking the Midwest to the East Coast. His involvement in preventing the canal's collapse led to Chicago authorities naming the street in his honor.
We'll meet at the Starbucks inside Target at 1940 W. 33rd, make our way over to Leavitt and start walking south until 107th.
Here is the 11.7 mile route.
Food options at the end include Open Outcry Brewing (wonderful rooftop deck), Buona Beef, Home Run Inn Pizza.
