6.5-mile walk Kinoulton, Hickling and Grantham Canal.

This very quiet and peaceful walk takes us from Kinoulton to Hickling Basin along the Grantham canal and is mostly flat as a pancake, so a complete absence of hills, although some of the ground is a bit uneven. Note: We will not be crossing the bridge in the photo! We'll meet in Kinoulton outside the Neville Arms (which is currently not functioning) and walk towards Colston Basset before turning in the direction of the canal on Owthorpe Lane. We'll then follow the canal past the so-called "Devil's Elbow" through Kinoulton and beyond to Hickling Basin, where the Grade 2-listed Old Wharf Tearooms can provide refreshments. After this stop we'll return to Kinoulton (less than two miles). Unfortunately public transport is not practical for this walk (not like the old days). Parking is available on the roads near the Nevile Arms. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the walk and at the Tearooms.
