Buxton Mini-Break

It's a winter spectacular weekend away to Buxton, where we have three days of fun-packed activities planned.

Most people are staying at the Premier Hotel on London Road, and the Transpeak bus from Derby stops right outside the hotel.

On Sunday, the plan is an early evening walk from the Premier Hotel, London Road, exploring Buxton before a half-way stop at the local Wetherspoons for dinner, followed by the remainder of the walk back to the hotel. The total distance for the walk will be five miles and will start from the hotel at 4.30 pm.

Monday it's a gentle nine-mile walk from Blackwell to Bakewell along the Monsal Trail, starting from Blackwell, we will catch the Transpeak bus from outside the hotel to the start of the walk at 1019 with buses back from Bakewell on the hour.

On Tuesday, it is a seven-mile walk from outside the hotel at 1030, where we will walk onto the moors above Buxton via Diamond Hill and the old Cromford & High Peak Railway before we descend via Stanley Moor, Buxton Country Park, Solomon's Temple, Poole Cavern and back to the hotel.
