Eight Mile Walk - Matlock, Lumsdale, Tansley and Riber Circular
Details
Join us for an eight-mile walk to Lumsdale Valley and the waterfalls, before we head over to Tansley, Riber, Riber Castle and a descent to Starkholmes.
We then ascend to High Tor and Giddy Edge before having a comfort and refreshment break at Matlock Bath. We then head to the Heights of Abraham and the route back to the starting point at Matlock.
The walk is along paved paths and open fields with several ascents and descents including a few steep climbs but well worth it for the scenery and the views along with a sense of achievement for making it up the hills, valleys, and cliffs.
Starting from Matlock Station at 1045 with a large car park outside the station and regular train service from Nottingham to Matlock. The train departs from Nottingham at 0917 with a return fare of £13.
All-day parking available for £6 at Matlock Station car park where we will be starting the walk.
