5-mile walk Cropwell Bishop/Cropwell Butler

Summer is here, just about - at least the sun is out and it looks OK for Saturday too. We'll meet outside the Wheatsheaf on Nottingham Road, Cropwell Bishop and take a lane leading to quiet paths through fields and lanes on the way to Cropwell Butler. Then we'll loop round and eventually discover what remains of the Grantham Canal, returning to Cropwell Bishop in time to investigate the famous cheese shop also on Nottingham Road. Although it's looking pretty dry in the next few days, walking boots are advised as usual as it may be muddy in places. Parking on roads around the pub and the No. 11 bus goes every hour from Nottingham, as does the No. 33 - check timetables online.
