Lake Mälaren-walk to Villa Lyran
Details
We start our walk at metro-station Vårberg and follow the Lake Mälaren-waterfront through the beautiful Sätra forest nature reserve. After about 5 km we climb the hill to Villa Lyran and its tower to enjoy great views of Lake Mälaren. Then it's time for fika or lunch.
The forecast is a few degrees minus and we should be protected from the wind (from southeast). I walked this route Wednesday in my runners and it was perfectly ok but maybe not to be recommended.
Villa Lyran was built 1867 and guests include king Oscar II and the great Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. The Swedish expression "att vara på Lyran" means "to be tipsy" and this famous cafe is the origin.
Starting point:
Vårberg metro-station on the red line direction Norsborg, 25 minutes from T-centralen. We meet indoors just outside the gates. See uploaded picture below.
Ending point:
Villa Lyran, from there it's a 10-minutes walk to metro-station Bredäng (on the same red line).
