Day-trip to Uppsala: walk, cathedral, museum, Light Festival...
Details
Let's visit Uppsala on a day-trip. Depending on the weather we will go for a walk along river Fyrisån, visit the cathedral (the seat of the Swedish Archbishop), Carolina Rediviva (the 6th century illuminated "Silver Bible") and/or Gustavianum (the University museum). There is also Museum of Evolution.
At 4pm the Light Festival will lit up:
"This year’s Light Festival will illuminate the city centre from 6–22 November, between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
...
Allt ljus på Uppsala 2026 lights up the city centre with thirteen unique light installations, created by international artists from around the world."
We travel by Commuter rail/pendeltåg from Stockholm City at 10.38 so let's meet on the platform ten minutes earlier.
From Uppsala there is a train leaving every half hour (at x.26 and x.56). Let's aim for the train at 17.56 arriving Stockholm City at 18.52.
