Albury Heath, Winterfold Wood and Lord Justice James' seat - 8.3 Miles (Hilly)

http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/c/8/8/e/event_107151342.jpegThis walk starts in Albury Heath and leads us through beautiful Surrey countryside into Winterfold Woods. Eventually, after a steady climb we reach the top of the Greensand Way and 'Lord Justice James' Seat'. I'm not sure who he was and why he had his own seat but it has great views to the South Downs.

We then follow the ridge down again via sunken lanes to a secluded valley where we will have a picnic lunch - so make sure you bring your own sandwiches and drinks etc.

The remainder of the walk takes us back over Farley Heath, via a Roman Temple (site of) to the car park. There is no pub on the trip but there is the William IV pub in Little London, a few minutes walk from where the cars are parked if any one wants to enjoy a drink after the walk.

I estimate the walk will take 4-5 hours to complete including the picnic break.

Good walking shoes/boots are recommended and suitable wet weather gear just in case of rain.
