Fall Strip Hike (urban walk) to the Las Vegas Sign
Details
The MeetUp is at Tommy Rocker’s Mojave Beach Bar (see pin map for directions) where parking is free, but it does increase the distance to about 6mi. Though, we can lessen the distance by riding the trams from the Bellagio to The Park and from the Excalibur to Mandalay Bay, which will rather interesting to view the progress of the new Las Vegas A’s Stadium as we tram pass.
The Strip hike entails first visiting the botanical display at the Ballagio to view the seasonal foliage presentation; after which, we’ll proceed south on the Strip to the LV Sign taking in the sights along the way, and return to the MeetUp location at Tommy Rocker’s, where we could have lunch if anyone is interested. As mentioned, the distance is over six miles and mostly flat, but without much shade and it could be a bit warm. Head cover and comfortable footwear is recommended, and be sure to bring hydration in consideration of your BMI, though there’s places on the Strip to purchase drinks. I’ll email the weather forecast to attendees the day prior and will make mention of the status of the hike. Happy Trails…
