Trailhead (35.984270, -114.842896) is a paved parking lot off US 93 just BEFORE St. Jude's on your left if coming from Vegas.
Weather - be aware there have been several times there was no wind in town but it was VERY windy on the way up.

Description:
This is a popular constructed dirt trail to the top of the red and black mountains that overlook Lake Mead and Vegas. The first half is a gradual climb then the switchbacks begin to the saddle. Once you reach the saddle between the red and black mountain you can choose left (red) or right (black). The black is a little longer. We will return the way we came so feel free to turn back early if needed.

The time of the meetup is the time we are LEAVING the carpool location (if no carpool then it is the time we are starting hike), please come on time, or chase after us frantically if you are late. Please review the planned hike if possible, be prepared for a no host event should your organizer need to drop off at the last minute. Pictures are often taken during meetups and posted on the site, if you don't want to be photographed then wear a bag over your head. If the meetup only has one person coming it may be canceled if I can’t be sure you will show up (I’ll try to contact you). Hiking time estimates are for an average size group, smaller groups go faster and larger groups slower.
