Mesa Ridge Loop (Long hike version) - Summerlin Mesa Park

The Mesa Ridge located in South Summerlin offers a fantastic view across the Vegas Valley and of The Strip, which I sometimes post as a full moonrise night hike or on July 4th as a fireworks viewing hike. There’s two versions that entails either a there and back of just over 4mi, or a longer just under 6mi loop that traverses the length of the Mesa Ridge and returns via the back of the ridge. Either version includes about 500ft of gentle elevation gain and a rocky section along a dry stream bed where sturdy shoes are recommended. Be sure to bring adequate hydration in consideration of your BMI and perhaps snacks, though I usually provide energy food (chocolate) for the general consumption. Dogs and kids are welcome to attend, provided they don’t bother anybody and their owner cleans up after them. Also, please consider a small donation to Walking Las Vegas to help defray the cost of the annual MeetUp dues.
