What we’re about
Welcome to Through Berlin, a series of free walking tours exploring the city’s layers of history, art and memory.
I’m Silvio, an independent guide, musician and writer based in Berlin.
In each tour I try not only to show you places, but to tell their stories — from the empire and the Weimar years to the scars of Nazism, the division of the Wall, and the vibrant rebirth of today’s city.
My tours are donation-based: everyone is welcome, and you’re free to contribute at the end as you wish.
Groups are small and friendly, and we walk together through the city’s atmosphere — with time for questions, stories, and reflection.
Join us, and let’s discover Berlin not only as a place, but as an experience.

Free Tour: Walking Through Berlin’s History and Secrets
Five Guys Restaurant at Potsdamer Platz, Potsdamer Platz 11, Berlin, DEBerlin is not just a city to see — it’s a city to cross, to feel, to read like a living book.
In this 2.5-hour walking tour, I won’t just show you monuments — I’ll guide you through layers of history and atmosphere: Berlin as an empire and Weimar stage, scarred by Nazism, divided by the Wall, reborn after reunification, and vibrating today as one of the most creative metropolises in Europe.
Together we will stop at the Brandenburg Gate, the Topography of Terror (former Gestapo headquarters), Checkpoint Charlie, and surviving fragments of the Berlin Wall. We’ll walk across squares, avenues and hidden corners that tell stories of resistance, memory, and transformation.
If you’re looking for more than clichés, if you want to discover Berlin with a writer and artist who lives its cultural life every day, then join me. Book now — and let’s walk through Berlin together.MEETING POIT DETAILS:
We’ll meet at Five Guys – Potsdamer Platz 11.
Please note: Google Maps lists several businesses under number 11, which covers a large area. We meet at the entrance facing the main square, not the one on Alte Potsdamer Straße.
The restaurant is located right across from Potsdamer Platz train station.
I’ll be there with a red badge, standing in front of the entrance on the square side.NOTE:
Please RSVP here on Meetup if you’d like to join —
spots are limited and the group closes once it reaches capacity.I kindly recommend arriving 15 minutes before the starting time at the meeting point. This helps us start together and on time.
