Tryfan Mountain - Grade 1 Scramble
Details
Described as popular for scrambling beginners, the South Ridge route of Tryfan is a Grade 1 scramble that follows a well-worn path from the Ogwen Valley.
Although this route is the easier route, it still involves a steep ascent, boulder fields and a short, exposed scrambling section near the summit.
The descent often involves descending the steep scree slope.
A "grade one scramble" is the easiest type of scramble, defined as an exposed walking route that requires using your hands for balance on steep, rough terrain but typically does not require ropes or specialized climbing gear.
Route finding is usually straightforward, with the option to bypass most difficult sections, though weather conditions can increase the hazard. These are suitable for experienced hillwalkers transitioning into scrambling.
Although this isn't the scariest scramble, it's very important that you know what's in store.
A scramble means: You will need to use your hands to pull yourself over rocks and boulders and there is a serious risk of falling at height. Please watch the video below (or it's in the event description if the link isn't working for you)
If this sounds like too much, I'll be doing another Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) climb in June.

I'll probably be staying up on the Friday night, and if there's enough interest and good weather we can plan something for the Friday or Sunday afternoon.
