Hi all, cost & info below, A fascinating 3 mile or 4 mile part-tour walk of 'Bloomsbury's Weird and Wonderful!', the narrowest alleyway in the whole of London, London's oldest square officially named a square, the largest hotel in the UK, the first pedestrian shopping street in London from 1822, the statues cut in half as were too big for a monument!
House windows blocked out by sunlight or viewing, a dead gentleman born in the 1700's sitting on a chair in a building while students eat and chat around him (pictured, mummified head recently removed as students kept taking his real head out of display area!) the titanic ship staircase, dining room and statue within a 5-star hotel (if permitted into hotel with the group on the day)
A beautiful, magnificent very rare early Victorian water pump in a wonderful old setting, a horse hospital from the 1700s, where Vladimir Lenin, founder of the Soviet Union and Kenneth Williams lived (not together!) Great Ormond Street Hospital, the largely unknown miraculous story of survivors of the 20th anniversary of the London 2005 bombings and also other wonderful hidden gems and rare old London lost areas!

4 mile walk option - Starts and ends at Euston Underground Station, estimated end time 4.30pm
3 mile walk option - Starts at Euston Underground Station and ends at Russell Square station. Please note: Thedead old gentleman born in the 1700's and the largest hotel in UK is not included in the 3 mile walk. Estimated end time 3.30pm
Please meet at Burger King in the heart of the main station of Euston mainline station. Toilets are located near Platform 1
BLOOMSBURY
It is considered a fashionable residential area, and is the location of numerous cultural, intellectual, and educational institutions.
Bloomsbury is home of the British Museum, the largest museum in the United Kingdom, and several educational institutions, including University College London and a number of other colleges and institutes of the University of London as well as its central headquarters, the New College of the Humanities, the University of Law, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, the British Medical Association and many others.
Bloomsbury is an intellectual and literary hub for London, as home of world-known Bloomsbury Publishing, and namesake of the Bloomsbury Set.
Bloomsbury began to be developed in the 17th century under the Earls of Southampton, but it was primarily in the 19th century, under the Duke of Bedford. the area is known for its numerous garden squares, including Bloomsbury Square, Russell Square and Bedford Square.
Origins and etymology
The area appears to have been a part of the parish of Holborn when St Giles hospital was established in the early 1100s.
The earliest record of the name, Bloomsbury, is as Blemondisberi in 1281. It is named after a member of the Blemund family who held the manor.
ABOUT OUR SECRET LONDON WALKS
It is a 15-year fascinating journey together to explore the whole of beautiful, enchanting Secret London. The only walking group in the World offering this unique experience!
The individual walks have been created from an original route several miles in length (usually on average about 25 miles) where we have checked every nook and cranny, every hidden alleyway, lane, lost cobbled path, cul de sac, avenue, road or street in that area for you!
It is then shortened, to give back to you a magical walk with all the best bits of 'Lovely London', voted the best City in the World for the 10th year running!
What is given back to you is the most scenic, healthy walk (usually 3-6 miles in length) with some of the walks containing hidden cobbled lanes, lost shops, secret gems, areas lost in time, wonderful views, idyllic Instagram photo shots and all sorts! Now and then some brief local info is mentioned or something of historical importance along the way.
Plenty of time to chat and meet new friends whilst walking the amazing lost areas of London! So we welcome you to the colourful highlights of this fascinating City of London with simply wonderful things to see!

PLEASE ensure ARRIVAL at least 15 minutes BEFORE the start of the walk, sorry no latecomers are accepted for whatever reason.
Members attend the unique walks from our different meetup groups.
IF LATE, SORRY WE ARE UNABLE TO RECEIVE CALLS OR ANSWER EMAILS AS WELCOMING MEMBERS, LEADING THE WALK, AND CONCENTRATING ON THE SAFETY OF THE GROUP. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CATCH THE GROUP UP, PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
Part Tour - Medium pace walk from 'Visit England' Award-Winning Guide and our group featured in the National Press! Please Note: Some events, being a large attended meetup group will be an organised walk only, but members are very welcome to organise their own get-togethers after the event.
You are required to be fit and healthy with appropriate footwear & clothing, responsible for meeting at the correct location, own safety and to not lose the group by viewing the organiser/making the organiser aware as much as possible, or follow/not lose sight of the person(s) from the same walk in front. We advise carrying water and some snacks.
The organiser is also not responsible for any circumstances that may affect the group or personally such as personal accidents, rail information, engineering works, cancellations, rail strikes or delays, heavy traffic, tours affected, weather, walk paths or routes closed, postcodes for car parks or for when we arrive back at the station, or anything else not mentioned!
