Schäful at the Belalp

Did you ever hear of the "Schäful"? No? Its a traditional event, where the sheeps, that spent the summer alone in the mountains, are welcomed back on the Belalp. You can find more information on the official website

It always takes place end of August / beginning of September. This year it will be the 6th (and the 7th) September.

I thought it would be a nice idea to combine it with a hike. I am still working on the path and will publish more details Thursday the latest.

If the weather is really bad I will cancel the hike.
I will decide once the weather situation will be sure.

Difficulty of the hike: It should not be more difficult than T3. Look at the difficulty scale for hikes used by the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC): http://www.hikr.org/post2984.html

Hiking pace will be moderate. My idea is that the hike should be fun and enjoyable for everyone and is a group event, where people support each other. My goal is not to be fast, but to rather appreciate nature and landscape.

Please bring the usual hiking equipment:

• backpack with lunch and water
• good, comfortable hiking boots
• always be prepared for rain
• hiking poles
